Oxford-Lafayette Fuller Center for Housing
Oxford-Lafayette Fuller Center for Housing operates primarily within the limits of Oxford and Lafayette County as it works to construct affordable housing with sponsors and volunteers from the Lafayette-Oxford-University (LOU) community. Low-income families selected for home ownership contribute at least 500 hours of “sweat equity” and assume all responsibility for mortgages when they take possession of the property.
United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County supports the agency’s Home Renovation and Repair project, which aims to significantly improve the living conditions for Lafayette County’s most vulnerable residents as it seeks to renovate and repair homes as well as foster a stronger, more resilient community by mobilizing a network of volunteers and local contractors.
United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County previously helped support the organization’s Helping Hands program when it was the Oxford-Lafayette Habitat for Humanity. The Helping Hands programs sought to improve quality of life for low-income and elderly residents by completing basic maintenance repairs and improvements such as cleaning drains, painting rooms, replacing light fixtures, and various other projects. The organization transitioned to the Oxford-Lafayette Fuller Center for Housing in 2022.
