Kurt Brummett, Executive Director, joined the United Way of Oxford-Lafayette County (UWOLC) in December 2016. Before being named the UWOLC’s Executive Director, Kurt served as the Research & Innovation Director at Three Rivers Planning & Development District, where he partnered with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and other entities to promote economic and community development.
Kurt earned a Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in sociology from the University of Mississippi. He graduated summa cum laude and received several academic honors such as a Marcus Elvis Taylor Memorial Medal, Graduate Achievement Award, and the designation of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Vice President.
Kurt has called Oxford home since August 1996. While he is a native of Tremont, Illinois, his parents, Kenneth and Doris Brummett, both hailed from Lafayette County and the three would visit Oxford each summer to see family. In his spare time, Kurt enjoys spending time with his wife, Kelly, and their son, Zach, as well as following the St. Louis Cardinals and Ole Miss Rebels among other teams.
